north star park

Back to tree hugging (which I really do when I'm measuring the DBH.) And another couple trees that made me wonder exactly what kind of ash it is - I still don't really know, maybe a flowering ash -

And a cool little surprise on the trunk of a smaller valley oak - I think katydids must be pretty mellow bugs - I've found others before, always easy to catch for drawing or posing nicely for a photo like this guy.

A parting shot of North Star Park, where I've been mapping for over a week - and now I'm done - next time I'll be back for real fun.
